Deluxe Tuning, an auto parts eCommerce store, consistently invests in paid ads and organic search to drive traffic. The next natural step was turning more of those visits into actual orders. Partnering with its marketing agency, Newark Digital, the retailer integrated Aqurate Personalize recommendations across product pages, the cart, and the homepage. Over the past 12 months, sessions where shoppers engaged with recommendations converted 78.3% better than those that didn't, with recommended products ending up in 8% of all orders.
About Deluxe Tuning
Deluxe Tuning sells auto parts and accessories online: car and motorcycle parts, tires, car audio, tuning and off-road equipment, seasonal categories such as winter accessories and camping gear, and more.
The Challenge
Acquiring visitors in the auto parts industry comes at a cost. Deluxe Tuning was already investing to attract shoppers, but most followed a predictable path: land on a product page, buy the exact part they came for, and leave.
Scaling revenue solely by purchasing more traffic gets expensive fast. A far better opportunity lay inside the store: converting a higher percentage of existing visits into orders, and turning single-item purchases into larger baskets.
With product lines as varied as brake components, roof racks, car audio, and camping gear, manually curating cross-sells across thousands of SKUs was impossible. The strategy required an automated recommendation engine, not a merchandising team.
The Solution
Newark Digital designed the personalization strategy and oversaw implementation. Aqurate Personalize provided the AI-driven recommendation engine and the analytics dashboard, tracking every click and order back to a specific recommendation block.
The setup focused directly on high-intent decision moments:
- Product Pages: Upsell recommendations, "frequently bought together" items, and popular products within the same category
- Add-to-Cart: A "frequently bought together" module presented right when the shopper commits to buying
- Homepage: A personalized feed powered by browsing and purchase history
The recommendation model trains on the shop's own order, visit, and catalogue data and refreshes every 24 hours, so suggestions stay current with stock, trends, and seasonal demand: winter products and tires in the cold months, camping and off-road gear in summer.
Measurable and Attributable Results
All performance figures compare sessions that interacted with recommendations against those that did not over a 12-month period (August 2025 to August 2026):
- +78.3% conversion rate uplift for sessions engaging with recommendations
- +43.4% larger basket size on recommendation-assisted orders
- 8% of all site orders contained at least one recommended product
- 5.8% of total store revenue was driven by recommendation-assisted orders
The product page did most of the heavy lifting:
- Upsell suggestions on product pages alone accounted for 4.95% of all orders and 3.74% of total revenue
- "Frequently bought together" prompts at add-to-cart added another 2.38% of orders
These results remained strong across all seasons, including the October and November peak period when winter tire demand and Black Friday traffic alter typical buying behavior.
Performance continues to compound over time. In the most recent 90-day window (May to August 2026):
- Conversion rate uplift reached +92.1%
- Basket size uplift hit +53.3%, marking the strongest quarter since launch
Conclusion
Deluxe Tuning's results show that in auto parts eCommerce, the product page is where personalization pays. Shoppers who arrive for one specific part respond to relevant suggestions at the moment of decision, and steadily improving numbers confirm the model compounds as it learns.
