Our methodology
The InsightOut Map 2022 covers a number of 48 players, all leaders within their industries. Therefore, it focuses on the largest players in the selected category (judged by Digital Presence) and does not aim to be an exhaustive comparison of all players.
To assess Digital Presence and Digital Maturity, InsightOut Analytics’ proprietary methodology computes:
All score evaluations are made intra-category. Players are categorized based on their main category, although some players offer products in multiple categories.
What's new in 2022?
It seems that 2022 brought about an improved Digital Maturity perspective for almost all companies included in last year's study. There is a notable positive change of this dimension, compared to year 2021.
Out of the 7 categories included in the study, the Fashion and Home categories seem to have had the most visible changes, with new players, previously not on the graph, topping the list of the most accomplished companies.
There are 2 new categories: Brico and Baby & Toddler, with the former category amassing a staggering online presence, just below the one of other popular choices, such as Electronics and Fashion.
