      Set up Aqurate Personalize in Shopify (custom app)

      In this article, you'll learn how to install and configure Aqurate Personalize as a custom app on a Shopify website.

      📌 Prerequisites

      • An Aqurate account (get it at aqurate.ai)
      • An active subscription with Aqurate Personalize
      • An active Shopify shop, and admin privileges
       

      # Getting your custom Aqurate App for Shopify

      1. Login to your Shopify admin panel and copy the URL

      2. Send the url to support@aqurate.ai

      Aqurate will create a custom App and send an installation link.

      3. Wait for the installation link (could take 1-2 days)

      # Installing and configuring the app

      4. Open the installation link we emailed you. Click Install app

      5. Select the Aqurate app on the left sidebar, sign up with Aqurate, and add the API key. Then click on Save

      You need to sign up for Aqurate by using the link in the Shopify app, and not directly via the Aqurate website.

      Once you signed up, you can create an API key in your account here. Make sure to select the Shopify preset.

      6. Configure the widgets and click on Save

      A good starting point is Cross-sell and Substitutes on the product detail page, and Cross-sell on the cart page.

      # Adding the recommendations widgets to your shop

      7. Go to Online Store > Themes, find your current theme, and click on Customize

      8. Click on Home page, and in the drop-down select Products. Choose the collection for which you want to add the product recommendations widget

      ⚠ You will need to set up the recommendations widget for each collection.

      9. On the left, click on Add section

      You will be able to move the widget within the page by dragging it up and down.

      10. Under Apps, select the Aqurate app

      11. Now that your widget appeared on the page, you can customize the heading and select how many recommended products should be displayed in the widget. Then click Save

      For now the widget will appear empty, but don't worry, everything works ok.

      12. Check your product pages to confirm the installation was a success.

       

      You're Done!

      Now the Aqurate Personalize recommendations will be placed on the pages you have configured.

        💡 Please note that it might take up to 24 hours to see your recommendations from Aqurate.
