Privacy and security of data at Aqurate

A short overview of our main privacy and security practices

Privacy and security are at the core of Aqurate. In order to provide our services, we need to  collect and process data regarding user behavior. However, we are always looking to minimize the data we use to what is strictly necessary to provide our Service.

1. Are you GDPR compliant?

Yes, we are. Aqurate serves as a data processor as described within the framework of our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

At the same time, you as data controller are fully responsible for informing your users about how their data is being used, and for using Aqurate as per the Terms of Service.

Right to erasure and right to access

Just email us at dpo@aqurate.ai by using the main account email address. Please make sure to include the end user identifier. If you request to have a customer forgotten, we will delete any personal data we have about that individual while retaining all non-personal data.

2. What data are you collecting?

Our solution uses IPs, cookies and other generic user IDs generated by Aqurate, Google Analytics, and/or the used eCommerce platform to personalize the experience for website visitors. For customers opting to send personalized emails, email addresses of end users are also processed. The following data is collected for your users:

  • Pages viewed
  • Items purchased
  • Specific website interactions (e.g. with product recommendation widgets, add to card buttons)

3. How are you handling data?

Data location

Our data centers are in ๐Ÿ‡ฉ๐Ÿ‡ช Frankfurt am Main, Germany. The data does not leave the ๐Ÿ‡ช๐Ÿ‡บEuropean Union.

Data access

Customers securely access their data through industry-standard authentication methods. We ensure that only employees who have a legitimate need to access the data for their job responsibilities are granted access.

Data isolation

The system is fully compartmentalized, so that each customer only has access to their own data.

4. How is the data used?

The Aqurate service

Your data is used primarily in order to offer you access to our Service.

Other legitimate uses

Fully anonymized data can be used to improve ML and AI algorithms. We sometimes publish anonymized industry reports, too (e.g. did the e-commerce sector grow or shrink during a specific quarter).

Selling data to 3rd parties

We do not sell your data to any 3rd parties.
